An Introduction…
Hello my friends. I’m excited to share with each of you the first edition of the Quest Newsletter!
One definition of Quest: “An expedition undertaken to attain a specific goal.”
Isn’t that life? We are ALL on a quest. In order to be fulfilled, we need meaningful pursuits. We need to be learning, moving, and growing. It’s how we’re wired.
The purpose of this newsletter is to help improve your journey as you navigate YOUR quest.
Each week will feature the following:

I’m glad to have you along for the ride and hope this newsletter adds value to your life.
Let’s begin…
Quote
Rainer Rilke on embracing uncertainty and “living the questions”:
“I want to beg you, as much as I can, dear sir, to be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves like locked rooms and like books that are written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.”
Useful Ideas From Me
I. Life is not a zero-sum game.
You don’t lose anything when others win.
You don’t win anything when others lose.
Be someone who cheers for others’ success.
Yours is coming.
II. “What am I doing with my life?”
**Insert good workout, good meal, good night of sleep**
“Life is wonderful, I’m capable of anything.”
The entire narrative of your life can change quickly when you change your inputs.
III. If you become top 10% in 6 areas of your life, you literally become one in a million.
10% * 10% * 10% * 10% * 10% * 10% = 0.000001 (1 / 1,000,000)

How to Shift from Victim to Victor
John O’Leary on the Ed Mylett Podcast
“John, do you want to die? It’s your choice, not mine.”
I thought for a moment and answered, “Mom, I don’t want to die. I WANT TO LIVE!”
That was the first conversation John O’Leary had with his mother after a horrific fire burned him across 100% of his body at 9 years old.
This one was powerful.

Story
Risk and Regret from Morgan Housel.
Great, short article here on the relationship between risk and regret.
“Regrets are a dangerous liability because their final costs are often hidden for years or decades. And decisions that are easiest in the short run are often the most costly in the long run.”
