Quote

From 2,000 years ago, the Roman lawyer, writer, and speaker Cicero on the dangers of indecision:

“More is lost by indecision than wrong decision. Indecision is the thief of opportunity. It will steal you blind.”

Source: Marcus Tullius Cicero

Related to this, studies show that at the end of our lives, we have more regrets from inaction than from actions done wrong. The pain of inaction lasts longer than the pain of incorrect action.

Let’s not let that be us.

Consider one area of your life you need to make a decision on and do it.

There are times in life when you need more information to make a decision and there are other times when you just need to act on the information you have.

Ideas From Me

I.

"When I get my life in order, I'll read books, start the workout habit, and invest in relationships."

No.

These habits ARE how you get your life in order.

The things you want to put off until you solve your current problem might be the solution to your current problem.

II.

A very simple way to improve your life:

Identify the activities that bring you joy.

And then do more of those things.

III.

Walking has so many powerful benefits:

reduces stress
improves circulation
improves sleep quality
boosts your mood and energy
aids in digestion (post-meal walks)

Great opportunity to stack with other habits: walk + sunlight + podcast + call a loved one.

Also, it’s good to go on a walk occasionally with no technology or agenda.

What Makes You Happy from Morgan Housel

“A weird thing in life is that everyone strives for a good life because they think it will make them happy. But what actually brings happiness is the contrast between what you have now and whatever you were just doing.”
